Johnson's No. 1 Stainless Steel Flux is an excellent flux for torch soldering of stainless steels, monel, nickel and chrome. Johnson's No. 1 works well with lead-free solders and other solders as well. Johnson's No. 1's residues are water soluble, yet they will remain active and therefore should be removed from the workpiece immediately after soldering.

Lloyd's Stainless Steel Flux is a highly aggressive flux for soldering all alloys of stainless steel as well as most other difficult-to-solder metals, except aluminium, magnesium and titanium. This flux works very well when heated soldering coppers are used to prevent warping of light gauge metals. Other used include tinning of tough cast iron bearing shells, prior to babbitting.

Johnson's J-33 Liquid Flux for Galvanized is an active chloride formulation, with the power to handle the toughest galvanized jobs. J-33 is used with Johnson's non-leaded Galvanized Repair Alloy and a torch for repairing galvanized surfaces, or with 50/50 low antimony solder and a soldering iron for sheet metal seams.

Lloyd's No. 6 Soldering Fluid is an ideal flux for soldering brass, copper, steel, lead, tinplate, terne plate and other coated metals. Uses include production soldering of stained glass lamp shades, brass musical instruments, and other products where a low staining flux is desirable. Lloyd's No. 6 may be diluted and its residues are easily removed with water.

Johnson's Soldering Paste contains a balanced formulation of inorganic chlorides in a pure petrolatum base. This grease type paste flux, known for its light color and soft composition, is preferred by many plumbers for sweat soldering copper joints and brass fittings. It becomes active enough when heated, to pull solder deep into the joints, yet its residues are considered mild because they do not turn copper pipes green.

For nearly 100 years this form of ammonium chloride has been used to promote rapid tinning of soldering irons and forged soldering coppers. Only when using well-maintained soldering irons will the solder being used, flow off the tip to properly fill sheet metal seams.
